Elstree & Borehamwood Town Council funds laptops for schoolchildren

Primary schools together received almost £30,000 worth of laptops and computer equipment for pupils during the lockdown. Elstree & Borehamwood Town Council handed out grants both in September and last month to ten schools, which has been vital to making home learning easier. The schools which received grants were Kenilworth, Cowley Hill, Woodlands, St Teresa’s, St Nicholas, Meryfield, Summerswood, Parkside, Saffron Green and Monksmead. Town mayor Simon Rubner said: The council is very proud to have played a small part in helping these students to maximise their education in what has been an incredibly difficult time for them, their families and their teachers alike.

For the last two months, Allum Hall in Borehamwood has been one of several Hertfordshire hosts helping make our communities safe by providing a place for the coronavirus vaccine to be administered. Thousands have passed through the doors of the hall and thanks to an expert team of clinicians, healthcare staff, and volunteers, the vaccination roll-out locally has gone off without a hitch.
