St. Louis River Summit: March 1-3, via Zoom. The Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve (Lake Superior Reserve) s summit highlights ways the St. Louis River Estuary contributes to community well-being. Keynote speakers: photographer and author Dudley Edmondson, “The Disconnect Between African Americans and the Outdoors,” and Great Lakes champion Cameron Davis, “A Field Guide to Hugging the St. Louis River.” There will be small-group, socially distanced field trips March 3: birding with Friends of the Lake Superior Reserve; Kingsbury Bay and Waabizheshinkana Trail; snowshoeing near Pokegama Bay; and revitalization efforts on and around Barker’s Island.
