that didn t wake up every day with a checklist. what did joe biden do for me today. they wake up every day trying to live their very complicated stressful lives now in the beginning of year three of this pandemic, and candidate joe biden said i m not donald trump, i ll be better at this. president joe biden back in july said we re going to begin a summer of freedom. well, people don t feel like they have that summer of freedom, do they, with omicron surging. so the covid frustration, the impact on schools, businesses, on the economy, on public health, has an exhausted country saying, you haven t given us what you promised. then his own base says, mr. president, you haven t given us what you promised. in a midterm election year, he needs to motivate his base. joe biden thought when he won in november he was going to have a democratic house and republican senate and he would be more of a centrist dealmaker. then they won those two senate seats in georgia and democratic expectations went
his biggest problem is out there in america where people think he has lost touch with them. he wran as the responsible adult who would make things better. the guy who understood government who would make things better. he said, the july 4th speech, summer of freedom, gave the impression covid was almost over. as you noted, we re at 770,000 cases a day right now. not his fault. these variants come up but he left the impression, i got this in july. afghanistan will be orderly. we ll be out of there in an orderly fashion. it was not. inflation will be fleeting. is not. he s lost what he had in the campaign, the connection, i get your problems and i m going to fix them. y he has problems in the democratic problem. his biggest problem is convincing people, can i take my kids to school? when am i going back to work? when is this going to be over and my life will be sback to soe semblance of normal. we have a plan. we re going to get there. because he s lost that. if i had to sum up with tw

these mandates coming down, the cdc will allow a caveat to say, hey, we might bring them back, if, say, another variant emerges and cases start skyrocketing again. i wouldn t expect to see that kind of caveat because we ve gone so-so many rounds of the virus has receded, we re getting where it s bet are and go back to normal and of course a variant does come and up-ends all of that, and i think what the white house and the administration is very wary of and does not want to repeat is last summer when the cdc said you didn t need to wear masks indoors or outdoors and then the white house proclaimed a summer of freedom, and of course the delta variant came and ever since then, we ve been dealing with pretty high case rates and one variant after another. but the goal of some of these guidelines is to say when your community reaches this threshold of hospitalizations, of cases, whatever other metrics they decide to include, you can go ahead and start to loosen restrictions but you might
