Lotha Hoho launches its constitution WOKHA The Lotha Hoho (LH), on June 3, launched its constitution during a programme held at Lotha Hoho Ki in Wokha town. Earlier, the Lotha Hoho was following a set of basic guidelines, which was first published in the year 1990 and subsequently amended in 1999 till it constituted a drafting committee to review and amend the guidelines. Rev. Abemo Jungio, pastor of Wokha Town Baptist Church, said a dedication prayer in the presence of Lotha hoho members during the launch programme. The constitution was accepted by the public during the general meeting held on May 10 at Lotha Hoho Ki. Jacob reiterates state govt s stand on implementation of ILP

Two days after chief minister Neiphiu Rio held a consultative meeting with the non-Naga communities of Dimapur to deliberate on the Inner Line Permit (ILP) issue, PHE and cooperation minister Jacob Zhimomi reiterated the stand of the government on implementation of ILP. Jacob said this while speaking as the special guest at the 40th general conference of the Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) at WSH Hiyam, Chekiye under the theme “Friendship and Unity”.

Nagaland government to issue order on Inner Line Permit soon, says PHED minister

DIMAPUR Acknowledging the increase in population of illegal immigrants in the state, Minister of PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, on Saturday said the state government is trying to regulate the Inner Line Permit (ILP) with certain rules, and that it will draft and issue an order soon. Addressing the general conference of Western Sumi Hoho at Chekiye, Chumoukedima, he asserted that the government will inspect whether people are staying in Nagaland legally. He said all the non-Nagas who bought land in Nagaland before statehood in 1963 will remain theirs but they will not be able to sell the land to another non-local, except to the Nagas. Whoever brings labourers to Nagaland will be the guarantor and they will be given certain period of time to apply for ILP, he said, adding that the responsibility of school teachers from outside should be taken by the institution, and guarantors for the non-Naga employees will be the employers. He claimed that such an action is necessary as illegal
