Kripalu, a graduate from IIM Calcutta and the CEO of packaging manufacturing company EPL, is a FMCG veteran. He was also the president for India and Southeast Asia at chocolate maker Mondelez. The board appointment comes at a time when Swiggy is said to be preparing for an initial public offering in 2024.
Slush 2023 saw over 13,000 participants, including 5,000 startup founders and operators, in addition to around 3,000 investors managing a combined total of $3 trillion in assets.
The company currently has 70 stores in Singapore, and plans to expand into Thailand, followed by the Philippines, cofounder and CEO Peyush Bansal told ET in Helsinki.
Lenskart: “We’re looking at opening 300-400 stores in southeast Asia in the next two years. Initially, we go slow, but we like to go deep. We’ve been in Singapore for the last three years, and are going to Thailand this year, and after a year in Thailand, we’ll go to the Philippines,” he added.
