Fire destroys San Juan business

THE destruction of an El Socorro business on Wednesday is being optimistically viewed as a new beginning by the company’s marketing director.
Speaking with the media after Wednesday morning’s fire at Chrome Furnishers Ltd, Nazia Mohammed said: “This is a time of change. New beginnings are coming.”
The fire at the businessplace at Farouk Avenue El Socorro, San Juan was reported around 5.55 am on Wednesday. Fire officials said they had to break down two walls to get inside the building to extinguish the flames, which spread to three homes nearby.

After spening hours trying to contain a fire on Monday night, fire officers returned at the scene in Citrus Drive, Enterprise, Chaguanas on Tusday morning to out fire which started back at the warehouse that housed goods for Sumeds Ltd Poultry Equipment and Supplies and Alisha Marketing. - Marvin Hamilton IT could have been saved! was the cry of two employees of a Chaguanas warehouse that was completely destroyed by fire on Monday.
The workers said they were displeased with the response from fire officials.
The warehouse, at Citrus Drive, Enterprise, Chaguanas, stocked goods for Alisha Marketing and Sumeds Ltd Poultry Equipment. Newsday understands it was a family business with an estimated total of 50 workers.
