A Special Operation Group (SOG) commando was injured during an exchange of fire between security personnel and Maoists in the Sunabeda wildlife sanctuary in Nuapada district, barely a few metres from the Chhattisgarh border. The commando sustained injuries on his neck and was rushed to a hospital in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The exchange of fire occurred near Shivanarayanpur under Komna police station. During a search operation, 10 improvised explosive devices, a loaded pistol, and other incriminating articles were recovered from the transit hideout of the Maoists.
