Two rescued, two criminals arrested from Katcha area in Ghotki

SUKKUR: The Khairpur Police have rescued two abducted persons from the captivity of dacoits in the Katcha area of Ghotki.SSP Khairpur Malik Zaffar Iqbal said two men, identified as Muhammad Hassan Rajper and Bashir Majedano, residents of Gambat, were trapped through telephone calls, the caller pretending to be a female. They were kidnapped by the dacoits in the Katcha area of Ghotki last Monday. He said the dacoits had demanded Rs10 million ransom from the families of victims. Meanwhile, the police had devised a plan for the safe recovery of abducted persons. The SSP Khairpur said the police had identified the locations of dacoits and launched an operation in the Katcha area of Raavanti in Ghotki. He said the police had recovered two abducted persons after a brief encounter with the criminals, saying the police had also arrested two kidnappers. SUKKUR: The Sindh Home Department has issued a threat alert to the Sukkur Police regarding the presence of two terrorists of the banned-outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The letter told the Sukkur Police that it has been reported that two suicide bombers of the banned-outfit TTP have recently entered Pakistan from Afghanistan, and they disguised themselves in female clothing. The alert said the bombers might reportedly stay in Pakistan, at the house of a local resident, identified as Babu, at Mehran Hotel near Station Road, district Sukkur. It further mentioned that the terrorists may plan to carry out suicide bombing on the eve of Eidul Fitr, but exact area or target could not be ascertained.

KARACHI: The Sindh Home Department has constituted a five-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the murder case of slain journalist of Sukkur Ajay Lalwani.
According to an official notification issued by Secretary Sindh Home Department, Dr Usman Chachar, following the directions of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Home Department constituted a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) comprising five officers of Sindh Police, ISI, IB, Special Branch and Pakistan Rangers for the purpese of investigation of murder of journalist Ajay Lalwani, the murder case registered at the Police Statien Saleh Pat, District Sukkur.
