A 35-year-old man killed his one-and-a-half year-old daughter by banging her against a wall at Yadwad village in Dharwad taluk after a fight with his wife. The accused is Shambhulingayya Shahpurmath, who worked at a bakery in Dharwad. He used to consume alcohol and quarrel with his wife often. The child was taken to KIMS Hospital in Hubballi, where she succumbed to her injuries.

KOLKATA: The second wave of coronavirus has made the artisans of Kumartuli, the famed colony of clay modellers in north Kolkata, anxious if they are facing the same scenario of last year when Durga Puja organisers ordered smaller, less priced idols to suit their reduced budget induced by the pandemic.
