A child died after falling from the mother s lap on way to a shelter in Betagi upazila of Barguna today to escape Cyclone Yaas and its associated tidal waves.
The deceased was identified as Imamul Hasan (3), son of Swapan Mia of Sarishamuri village in the upazila, said Betagi Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Suhrid Salehin.
The incident occurred at South Kalibari area around 11:00am when the mother along with the child was going to Kalikabari Government Primary School Shelter, our Patuakhali correspondent reports, quoting the UNO.
