Religious scholar injured in Orangi Town gun attack

A religious cleric was wounded in a gun attack in Orangi Town on Wednesday. Scholar Mufti Saleemullah Khan, 40, son of Pasand Khan, the head of the Salim Academy in MPR Colony, was shot and injured on Manghopir Road.
Police said two suspects riding a motorcycle opened fire at a white-coloured Toyota Corolla car, in which Khan, his wife, children and other relatives riding. The scholar was injured and immediately taken to a private hospital in North Nazimabad. Luckily, his family members escaped unhurt.
West Zone DIG Asim Qaimkhani told media persons that Mufti Saleemullah was shot twice, in his abdomen and back. According to a witness, the car stopped after the firing incident. “I broke the window of the car, pulled out the injured person from a car and told him that he had suffered bullet injuries,” the witness said.

KARACHI: A Rangers man was martyred while 14 others including four Rangers personnel were injured when a bomb planted in a motorcycle in Orangi Town went off on Monday evening. Responsibility for the blast was claimed by the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), officials said.
According to West SSP Suhai Aziz, a bomb planted in a motorcycle went off when the Rangers personnel travelling in a vehicle passed through the area. As a result, the Rangers personnel and some passersby were injured. The wounded persons were shifted to the nearby Sindh Government Qatar Hospital and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where one of the Rangers men was pronounced dead.

Karachi, March 16 : A Rangers official was martyred and 10 others, including two Rangers personnel, were injured in an explosion in Karachi’s Orangi Town on Monday evening, police said.
West Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Suhai Aziz said that the attack was apparently directed at the Rangers personnel who were passing through the area in a vehicle when the bomb – fitted in a parked motorcycle – went off, the Dawn reported.
As a result, three Rangers personnel and seven other people were injured, she added. They were shifted to different hospitals in the city. One Rangers official succumbed to his injuries, the SSP said.

Karachi: A remote-controlled bomb exploded on Monday in the Pakistani city of Karachi, killing a paramilitary soldier and injuring eight other people, police said.
“[The] initial investigation suggests an explosive-rigged motorcycle was used in the blast,” senior police officer Suhai Aziz told
Reuters, adding that the device was detonated through remote control.
The device, planted next to a security services vehicle, also injured six other people who happened to be in the area, according to Karachi police officials.
