Skywarn Spotter Training: various dates in April, via GoToWebinar. National Weather Service Duluth is offering classes to teach Northlanders about severe weather safety, the science of storms and the importance of weather spotters. Basic Class dates: April 7, 11 a.m.; April 12, noon; April 13, 6:30 p.m.; April 14, 10 a.m.; April 15, 6:30 p.m.; April 21, 6:30 p.m. Advanced Class dates: April 27, 10 a.m.; April 28, 2 p.m.; April 29, 6:30 p.m. Free. Youth Archery Club: 6:30-8 p.m. every Tuesday, March 23-April 13, Washington Center gym, 310 N. First Ave. W., Duluth. This club covers topics like basic safety and technique, and progresses to games, challenges and competition-style scoring practice. All equipment provided. Hosted by Duluth Parks and Recreation. Northern Pines Sled Dog Race: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 20, starts and finishes at Northern Pines Golf Course, 69420 Airport Road, Iron River, Wisconsin. Sprint/mid-distance race is a downhill run through the golf course entering the Bayfield County Trail system and the Tri-County Corridor.
