While Software icon Narayana Murthy urged youngsters to cast their votes, TV Mohandas Pai, co-founder of Aarin Capital said that everyone should exercise their franchise to elect a leader who represents them in the Lok Sabha.
IT industry tycoon N R Narayana Murthy, alongside his wife and Rajya Sabha member Sudha Murty, as well as cricket icon Rahul Dravid were among the initial voters on Friday (Apr 26) in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections.
Murthy and his wife encouraged citizens, particularly the younger generation, to actively participate in the ongoing voting process.
"We get this right to vote once every five years. We have to exercise this right responsibly with a lot of thinking. No one should let go of this opportunity," Narayana Murthy told reporters.
Amidst polling in the state in the phase 2 of the Lok Sabha elections, Karnataka’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Friday said a case has been booked against BJP’s sitting MP and Bangalore South candidate Tejasvi Surya for “posting a video in X (formerly Twitter) handle and soliciting votes on the ground of religion.”
