kind of legislative success for the republicans in the coming six, eight, ten months before the next election. and you re feeding the democrats with a narrative, as they say these days, that, you know, he is you have to vote against trump. not that he is on the ballot, but they ll make it a referendum on trump. he would be not overtly the end of his presidency, but he would become such a lame duck. so difficult to operate. look, he is focusing in on doing a very high stakes negotiation with north korea. all right. he s got a lot of other things happening. indeed. for him to sort of stir up a lot of dust here when he might be focusing on other some other big things that he needs to get a success on. all right. we will see what happens. and see where the republicans stand in his way, indeed this is
something the president wishes he had more success on, renegotiating the 2015 iranian deal. the u.s. and five other countries agreed to lift sanctions against iran. in return, the country promised to limit its nuclear program to peaceful production and use only. frankly, that deal is an embarrassment to the united states. an embarrassment that president trump decertified essentially punting and giving congress the power to decide what to do next. the iranian regime continues to feel conflict, terror and turmoil throughout the middle east and beyond. importantly, iran is not living up to the spirit of the deal. the iran deal wasn t perfect. but the iran deal did buy us 15 to 20 years of a nuclear-free iran. it seemed like he wanted to
attorney general jeff sessions is doing. this is some of the work he s been doing as well and the president, certainly a part of his brand and allows him to focus on something that will rile up his base. the base expected, and had success on. everything else in many ways, he hasn t had that success. this idea he s a dealmaker. he alone can fix it. he can bring sort of a new tone and tenure to washington hasn t worked, but on these kinds of things i think, you know, the base is very pleased with what he s been doing. look, i think the turmoil that surrounds the president, part of which he s to blame for, weighs heavily on him, because he s got an agenda that has been stalled, and i think he understands that s a problem, and he has people, i m told, urging him he s got to do something about it. but we we just don t know in the end what he will do or when he will do it. and beginning to leave the long island mccarthy airport for the drive over to brentwood where the president will b
and that is going to have a bigger impact on political outcomes in 2016 than the approval ratings of leaders in congress that are tell lively unknown by comparison. well, let s see. dallas, what do you think? well, i think i m glad to see the president is having some successful. i mean, obviously. on what, dallas? well,. what has he had success on. steve: one at a time, guys. showing strength in the world. sorry, steve. getting allies to the table. is he taking a tough stand across the world. i believe we re going to get healthcare done and i believe we are going to be very successful in the 2018 elections. we have very popular people with the white house and some republicans that can go into districts. the democrats have nancy pelosi who, if she was an actress, would be box office poison. she is a great foil for us. the democrats have chuck schumer. i would not want to bring him in to a red state.
commerce secretary, he s been very involved in a lot of trade negotiations we ve been seeing the past few months. rex tillerson the secretary of state, it makes sense for these people to be here, and you know, they re directly involved in these diplomatic and trade deals that this administration is trying to make. i will say that we ve been here one day so it s hard to start picking up patterns, but tillerson was the one to brief us here last night. i think it shows the administration is feeling good about what it s accomplished to this point. i think it helps to have the saudi officials flanking him to further bolster the arms deal and the direct investments that were made yesterday. and so i think that you have these advisers here, that s kind of a show of force that this trip matters, that they re taking it seriously, that the choreography is important to them as well as the outcomes are things that they re really pushing for and they re really hoping for for success on. ali, ther
