A 22-year-old Waikiki man facing life in prison in connection with the fatal fentanyl overdose of a U.S. Marine in November 2021 will be arraigned and enter a plea today in federal court, accused of conducting numerous drug transactions with active duty military personnel.
A Waikiki man who was arrested and found with “ghost guns “ and ammunition was charged by federal prosecutors with drug and gun crimes after he allegedly sold a fatal batch of cocaine to an active-duty Marine who overdosed and died on Jan. 23.
Recoveries in FY 2021 drastically increased compared to those in FY 2020. The US$5.6 billion in recoveries reported by the DOJ in its 1 February 2022 press release is more than double the US$2.2 billion recovered in FY 2020 and is the second-largest ever recorded.
