STURGEON BAY - An Oshkosh-based developer received approval from the Sturgeon Bay Common Council to proceed with plans for what initially is proposed to be a four-story, 52-unit apartment complex on the city s West Side waterfront.
The decision reached at the Dec. 8 council meeting doesn t commit Northpointe Development Corp. to building the project or to the size of it, nor does it commit the city to contracting with Northpointe to build it, said Marty Olejniczak, the city s community development director, who stressed that the proposal is very much in a preliminary stage.
The council s decision gives Northpointe the go-ahead to firm up a plan for the site and bring it back to the city for further approval. Olejniczak said Northpointe will now determine what kind and size of apartment complex is financially and physically feasible on the site, which covers a little less than an acre.
