The Dairy Barn Arts Center is proud to announce the opening of “Quilt National ‘21: The Best in Contemporary Quilts.”
Quilt National is a juried, biennial exhibition that features new artworks by 84 artists from 14 countries. The exhibition will be on view May 29 to Sept. 6 and will feature local artist Nancy Crasco, of Brighton.
A BFA graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Crasco earned a master’s degree at Lesley University and has been working in fiber since 1968, actively exhibiting her work nationally and internationally since 1975. Her work is often based on the intricacies of nature, and the effects that modern society has on the ecology of the earth. Her imagery is achieved through the use of various printing processes, including linoleum, gelatin plate, and a photocopier, in combination with stitching and embroidery. Quilters present gift to Sisters history museum

photo by Sue Stafford This past October, the Sisters History Museum hosted a collaborative exhibit of quilts created by members of local quilting guilds in honor of the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment on August 18, 1920.
The Amendment states, “The rights of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex. Congress shall have the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.”
