Over the past two days, UMass Students for Justice in Palestine, UMass Dissenters and other advocacy groups followed suit with colleges across the country to create a “Popular University” in solidarity with Gaza before dispersing Tuesday night.
The Rally to End Fossil Fuels took place on the Student Union Lawn yesterday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., as the University of Connecticut community gathered to push the release of a sustainability action plan that was promised by administrators six months ago.
The University of Connecticut’s Month of Discovery kicked off on Thursday, Oct. 5 at the Student Union Lawn and the Makerspace Bounce was the signature kickoff event.
On Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m., University of Connecticut students gathered on the Student Union Lawn to express solidarity with the victims of recent unprecedented attacks on Israel by Hamas, a Palestinian militant group designated as a terrorist organization by the United States government.
On Wednesday, Sept. 13, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Student Association (SA) met to swear in new and returning senators, appoint senators to committees, and hear updates on what senators’ respective committees have been doing so far this year.
