When the family came down with Covid-19 in early December, Carey’s son and daughter had to isolate at home for two weeks. That meant missing school and the reduced-price lunches the kids rely on.
The Student Support Network, a nonprofit that improves the lives of Baltimore County Public School students living in poverty by providing food, other basic necessities, and advocacy support, has appointed Michelle Corbett, Veneeta Eason, Shalini Morgan and Michael Patz to its board of directors. Corbett is a health care business transformation adviser and program integration .
Volunteers with the Student Support Network and the Maryland Food Bank, who distribute food to those in need, have been addressing the food insecurity that afflicts so many in Baltimore County, the rest of the state and across the nation, particularly during this pandemic year.
