Accjc is a nonstate agency lacking adequate state accountability and has unleashed authority to oversee state funded Community Collegeses. It is also a bureaucratic mess of contradictions. While the Community College faculty staff and administrators are being forced to ban their normal student and campus responsibilities in order to comply with unsubstantiated accjc mandates. When did a Community College become based more on the institutions governance process, which is thank you dedicated by california state laws and less on the quality of education being provided . These are important questions that we believe the state audit will answer and im honored to be joined by [speaker not understood] in this effort to examine whether our Community Colleges and students are being treated fairly, consistently and without bias. Ive been a counselor at city college of San Francisco for over 23 years. I want to say that we serve so many different populations and its not just San Francisco. It is a the bay area, naturally the whole country. ~ its i have students from city college of San Francisco not only for our wonderful technical programs, but also labor studies, for lgbtq programs, for any of the ethnic studies programs that we provide that Many Community colleges and even fouryear institutions do not. So, we are serving under served populations that are ignored, thor denied access, and it is important that we maintain our excuse me, our community and that Community Word was taken out of our Mission Statement in deference to the accjc. ~ that are it is imperative we maintain our city college. Also im a former student and student rehabilitating from trauma and addiction and education with learning disability. I intend to Teach High School to a classroom of revolutionary students. And i know as a living fact that it is impossible for every lower working class student to live up to the standards that have been built specifically to exclude them. The accreditation attack from this commission has impacted the Mission Statement at our school to deliberately squeeze out people like me, people without friends or financial support, the elderly, undocumented students and students ever color.
