CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A somber day on the University of North Carolina Charlotte campus, as Niner Nation marked two years since the deadly campus shooting that killed two students and hurt four others. People gathered both virtually and in person for the day of remembrance. 2019-2020 Student Body President Chandler Crean spoke in a pre-recorded speech and said, in part, “It was unbelievable that this could happen to such a special place like our university, but it did happen. And two years later, I have not forgotten the pain of that night and the days and weeks that followed.”
