STURGIS, S.D. Students at Sturgis Williams Middle School making a big donation to “the house that love built.”
For the past month, the kids have been collecting pop-can tabs to be donated to the two locations of Ronald McDonald House in South Dakota.
The mission? To keep the families of hospitalized children together during treatment by providing room and board close by.
The can tabs will traded-in as aluminum scrap.
Ronald McDonald House Executive Director Kevin Miles picked up the donation in person.
“Wherever families are going for their children’s needs, they’re going to be served by a Ronald McDonald House, and it takes efforts like this to really help those houses continue to maintain,” Miles said.
