Sill Hall, home of Eastern Michigan University s College of Engineering and Technology, underwent a $40 million renovation and expansion last fall.
Eastern Michigan University plans to rename its College of Engineering and Technology after a $5 million gift from a group of alumni that includes prestigious entrepreneurs and former athletes.
Named after the donor group, the college will be called GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology starting March 1, the university announced last week, following approval from the board of trustees.
In addition, the gift will fund state-of the-art supplies, equipment and program upgrades for Sill Hall, the newly renovated home of the engineering and tech school. Last fall, the building underwent a $40 million overhaul, which included a 16,000-square-foot addition to the existing 93,000-square-foot building.
