Worried for his family’s safety back home, he immediately called to check up on them but the Myanmar military had shut down the internet, making it difficult to contact his parents. “It was hard for me to focus on anything else like my health, my wellbeing, my sleep, my eating schedule, and my academia,” said Naing, describing his reaction to the blackout.
