The artificial rain, also known as cloud seeding, will be induced by a team from IIT Kanpur once the Supreme Court gives a go-ahead to the plan, which will be submitted in front of the court on November 10 by the Delhi government
Delhi air pollution: The persistent problem of air pollution calls for an end to stubble burning in the National Capital Region and in adjoining states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, at a time when multinationals are eyeing to adopt sustainable practices across all operational stages to meet their net-zero goals.
Haryana has developed a comprehensive plan to tackle the issue of stubble burning during the upcoming paddy harvest season. The state has identified villages with high instances of farm fires, set up control rooms, formed enforcement teams, and introduced incentives to discourage farmers from burning crop residue. Last year, Haryana saw a significant decrease of 48% in stubble burning.
Thus, Delhi Pollution may see a marginal improvement becoming very poor but will slip to very severe in nature. Winds will only become strong around November 11. Thus, for some time, Delhi Pollution will see no significant improvement.
