The University of Alabama received some major academic recognition recently. The school announced Tuesday that for the first time in its history it has been recognized as both a Top Producing Institution of Fulbright U.S. Students and a Top Producing Institution of Fulbright U.S. Scholars.
At a ribbon-cutting ceremony last Thursday in Tuscaloosa, UA President Stuart R. Bell declared the new Catherine and Pettus Randall Welcome Center officially open. The center will be dedicated to undergraduate admissions and will also be a place for prospective students to meet for campus tours.
