Street Talk understands Barrenjoey has hired Credit Suisse managing director and head of Australian equities research sales Mark Malouf, who is consistently ranked the top salesman in the market.
Malouf will work alongside the bankâs head of cash equities â and ex-UBS senior trader â George Kanaan, who was the first to leave the Swiss bank in Octoberâs talent raid.

Sources told Street Talk that Ords notified staff of his departure on Tuesday afternoon.
While the internal announcement did not say where McGarrigle was off to, sources told this column he was heading to the Barclays and Magellan-backed Barrenjoey.
Mikhael joined Barrenjoey in October last year, when the start up broker raided UBS equities desk, also picking up senior trader George Kanaan, and equity sales operatives Stuart Brownrigg, Tim Aurel-Smith and James Ledgerwood, and Melbourne-based David Pender.
