Kind Stonehouse neighbours raised money for a King Stanley shopkeeper whose newspapers were stolen from her newsagents on Saturday. Nearly £100 worth of papers were nicked after Julie Granger, 53, who runs Yew Tree newsagents, left them on her front porch for WHSmith to collect at 3am. Since then, £130 has been donated to Julie by generous neighbors in the Stanleys and Stonehouse. “I’ve been totally flabbergasted and a bit overwhelmed that people have clubbed together and donated to money to cover that cost, it’s so nice.” She described the community as a lovely old fashioned village, where everyone knows everyone and speaks to each other.
