The faster you get to the hospital during a stroke, the more options they have to treat it. There are two different stroke treatment options in the very first hours of having a stroke or stroke-like symptoms. One of these options is a medication that is a clot buster. If a patient meets all the criteria in the first four and a half hours of a stroke, this medication can be administered. This medication has a 40 percent chance of completely eliminating stroke symptoms. Any sign of stroke should be addressed as soon as possible so the clot buster medication can be an option for treatment.
