Joe Biden was in Philadelphia today at the 30th Street Amtrak station to recognize Amtrak’s 50th Anniversary and to push for his $2.3 trillion infrastructure bill, according to CBS.
Biden has a long relationship with Amtrak. For the years that he was in Congress and in the White House, he would often take Amtrak back and forth from Washington, D.C. to Delaware. He’s proposing $80 billion dedicated specifically to Amtrak as part of the infrastructure plan.
But as Biden was talking about that history and what he did with Amtrak under Barack Obama, he started rambling. You can see he closes the book with the prepared remarks he just delivered, then starts speaking off the cuff. That’s when he gets into trouble.
