Councillors refused Redrow Homes’ proposal to build 118 houses on Iron Acton Way, but as the vote went against the recommendation of a planning officer to approve the application, a final decision will be made at a later date by a higher-level committee at South Gloucestershire Council.

The club’s application for outline planning permission to build on Hogwood Park was approved by Wokingham Borough Council on Wednesday, December 9. They want to construct two, three, and four-bedroom homes and have agreed to ensure that 56 of them are affordable. The Championship club, who have moved to a new training facility at Bearwood Park, will have to get a more detailed reserved matters planning application approved before construction can begin.
