Yate Town Football Club The chairman of Yate Town Football club is mightily disappointed and has urged South Gloucestershire Councillors to carefully consider their decision on a proposed development on Iron Acton Way after the initial proposals were rejected on the grounds it would amount to destructive “urban sprawl” and swallow up a village. Councillors refused Redrow Homes’ proposal to build 118 houses on Iron Acton Way, but as the vote went against the recommendation of a planning officer to approve the application, a final decision will be made at a later date by a higher-level committee at South Gloucestershire Council.

Reading FC want to build 140 homes on their old training ground at Hogwood Park CONTROVERSIAL plans to build 140 homes on Reading FC’s former training ground have been approved. The club’s application for outline planning permission to build on Hogwood Park was approved by Wokingham Borough Council on Wednesday, December 9. They want to construct two, three, and four-bedroom homes and have agreed to ensure that 56 of them are affordable. The Championship club, who have moved to a new training facility at Bearwood Park, will have to get a more detailed reserved matters planning application approved before construction can begin.
