Gordon Caldwell,18, of Dover, recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
He is an academically homeschooled senior and a member of Strasburg Boy Scout Troop 72. He is the son of April Caldwell of Dover.
As his Eagle project he constructed a raised garden bed at Horizons Group Home in Bolivar.
“I wanted to build a garden for people with disabilities and in wheelchairs so they can enjoy gardening,” Caldwell said.
In the fall of 2009, Caldwell joined scouting as a Tiger in Club Scout Pack #72. After earning a Webelos Arrow of Light award, he crossed over in the boy scout troop in the spring of 2014. His scouting service includes Ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow and summer camp staff at Seven Ranges Scout Reservation at Kensington, Ohio. He has earned his fifth-year Pipestone, 29 merit badges, and a bronze Eagle Palm.
