Latest road closures in Oxfordshire

Cheltenham Road in Burford will see traffic prohibited between Tanners Lane and Burford roundabout (A361). This order comes into force on March 19, with the work expected to take 10 days to be completed, between the hours of 7.30pm and 5am. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via the A361 to Lechlade, A417 towards Cirencester, A429 (Stow Road) and the A40 towards Burford, and vice versa.

Library Box Provides Free Book Options | News, Sports, Jobs

P-J photo by Jay Young STOW Visitors to the newly finished North Harmony municipal building at 5388 Stow Road will now have the opportunity to catch up on some reading. Thanks to the work of the North Harmony Senior Citizens, the building entrance now includes a free library box. “We placed the box (Sunday) in front of the new town office on Stow Road,” said Barbara Cheney, who helped organize the project. “It is a national organization, online at littlefreelibrary.org. We are chartered, we registered with them so we have a charter number and everything.”

Santa will be chauffered across Marlborough this weekend during the city s first annual Santa Run

MARLBOROUGH Santa is making a pre-Christmas visit to the city this weekend to spread some holiday cheer. Marlborough is holding its first Santa Run Saturday and Sunday evening to give children throughout the city an opportunity to see and wave to Santa. The city’s annual Home for the Holiday event which includes the tree lighting and a visit from Santa was canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Marlborough Fire Department will chauffer Santa in Rescue 1 throughout the city from 3:30-8:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Neighborhoods east of Rte. 85 will receive a visit from Santa on Saturday. Santa will drive through streets west of Rte. 85 on Sunday. Residents can track Santa’s progress via the Glympse mobile app.
