50 degrees, break out the shorts and bikinis. i m sure we ll see some weird stuff moving down the avenue on friday. let s take a look at the forecast precipitation as this next storm exits. we have another storm sneeking in on wednesday, mainly a rain event but new england getting socked with so much snow in some cases 60 inches of snow, and of course the skiers are enjoying this. so there s our latest storm system exiting. we have this next sneaky system on wednesday, too warm for snow in philadelphia, d.c., and new york, but between, up towards new england, that s where we could get several more inches of snow on wednesday. then later in the week and the weekend? well, let s take a look. look as the temperatures, especially across the south. little rock, 74. 62, rally. 60 in d.c. 44 in new york. we ll take it. 46 in new york. thursday. friday, the 50s and we ll be
in nantucket, 30-mile-per-hour winds as the storm exits. and it is cold and will remain cold the next couple of days. then we watch this sneaky one move in across the great lakes and the ohio valley. and we could see a mixture of freezing rain and/or sleet across portions of missouri, illinois and ohio. and then watch this as we head into tuesday, another one moving into d.c., philadelphia and new york. a couple inches. of course, a lot of people are storm weary at this point, but the good news is, after i show you the snowfall totals, is that wednesday through friday it is going to warm up. we ll have some first considerable warm-ups that we have had in months, except for super bowl sunday, which was so weird, remember that? one day we had 50 degrees. then 12 hours later it was snowing again. they dodged the bullet. 50s again this week. what are we going to do? put on shorts. put on your skirts. we ll talk about this this morning. the president on friday was at
the northern tier of the country and the threat for severe weather. cold enough for snow across minneapolis, rapid city. denver, 31. ahead of this is where we have that warm, sultry air, that will give us the potential for severe weather throughout the work week. let s take a look at it. one storm exits, we are dealing with mainly wet weather along the east coast. another storm develops across the rockies moves into the central u.s. bringing 6 to 12 inches yet again of snow around the rockies up towards the northern plains as you can see more snow in the forecast. again i wish i had a magic wand to just make it springtime for everyone, but it s not going to happen, and real quick, rick and general aeu want to go over the severe threat with this because of the change in temperatures we ll deal with the potential for hail, damaging winds and tornado not only today but through tuesday, and look at wednesday already predicting a massive area for millions of people including oklahoma city u
mix. how bad is all of this? it s going to be taking the east coast. bring in chad myers to tell us what do we expect on both fronts. first the blizzard. the blizzard is coming. there s going to be snow again in concord, in manchester, in parts of boston. boston, tomorrow you ll wake up to snow but changes over to rain at least part of the day. and it changes back over to snow as the storm exits. so it s just warm enough to make rain for a while. but here s the blizzard conditions from minneapolis out toward bismarck and into the dakotas this is where the snow is right now. winds are blowing 50 or 60 miles per hour. it s the same winds that really fueled those fires in colorado just in a different state making a different outcome making snow instead of the fire. back to boston, not so much the cape, about five inches on the ground tomorrow as you wake up. some schools could be canceled. that will change back over to rain but will not in vermont, new hampshire, maine, it will stay sno
