Llechryd bridge damaged in Storm Christoph but will reopen

LLECHRYD bridge is set to reopen later today (Tuesday, January 26) after being damaged during Storm Christoph last week. The bridge was once again completely submerged under the River Teifi during the storm as the local area was battered by heavy rain and strong winds, with the adjoining A484 also closed due to flooding. Widespread flooding across Teifi Valley as rain finally abates

STORM Christoph has brought flooding to large swathes of the Teifi Valey. Flood warnings issued by National Resources Wales are still in place across the Tivyside area, though the heaviest rainfall has now cleared the region after torrential downpours battered the region for for the past couple of days.. The area around Llechryd Bridge is once again badly affected, with flood warnings also in place for the River Teifi at at Cenarth, Newcastle Emlyn, Llandysul Bridge and Llanybydder, along with the River Tyweli at Station Road, Llandysul. Many minor roads are flooded. It is only a month since similar problems hit the area, with widespread flooding just before Christmas.
