they re the only power that he s really concerned with. gregg: does nato need to step up attacks? at this point i would say no because if nato the more they start attacking, given the uncertainty on the ground, the more you re going to see incidents where we bomb rebel forces because it s such a cluster down there that it s difficult to figure out who is who and when you start slinging around high explosive net weapons, you know, bad things happen. gregg: wait a minute. if americans are pulling out of this thing in terms of combat operations and you don t think nato should be stepping up its bombing strikes, then isn t gadhafi going to win? well, i think gadhafi is going to solidify his current gains. he s probably smart enough to realize that if he keeps pressing the rebels, then nato will step up its kinetic
funding the rest of this year. we re going to quickly move into the budget and next year s spending levels. that conversation is not about billions. it s about trillions. the need to keep their eye on the force and be able to explain to the american people what their long-term plan is on cutting this size of the government. brian: doug, what do you think about the possibility of another stop-gap budget plan, another two-week extension being put into place? i think that s increasingly likely because both sides don t have enough time to get to that $33 billion, i don t think. possible, but increasingly unlikely as greg was saying. but matt races the fundamental issue. neither side has put forward a large scale plan to balance the budget and the $3.6 trillion budget to talk about 50, 60, $100 billion in cuts is just not enough. you have to take on entitlements. you have to talk about defense. neither side has done it in a systemthic way.

my grandmother has diabetes. she s been active and healthy her whole life and never done anything wrong. but this would tax her simply because she s elderly and suffers from diabetes. that s not fair. access says the program is designed to promote healthy behavior. patients would have to work with a doctor and develop plans to kick their bad habits. if they don t meet certain goals, then they ll have to pay. why should i have to pay for a health condition that i didn t cause myself? charlie is on access, she has diabetes and she smokes. 50 bucks a year isn t that much, but they tax you for everything else. they re just doing it because it s another excuse to make money. not true, says a spokeswoman for access. as we were truly targeting them, we would prohibit target them. we re not saying you can t smoke. you can smoke if you want to smoke. what we re saying is, that in return, you have to pay your fair share because it costs us more to cover you in terms of your health
