(LAWRENCE CO.) – Gene McCracken attended his last Lawrence County Commissioners Meeting on Tuesday after serving over 20 years in politics.
Gene McCracken has served over 20 years in politics in Lawrence County
McCracken served as the Executive Director for the Stonegate Arts & Education Center for over 5 years. He also served as Executive Director for the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council for 14 years.
McCracken has served as president of the Lawrence County Commissioners this year.
“Gene, it has been a pleasure working with you and good luck in the future,” David Holmes Lawrence County Highway Superintendent told McCracken.
“I have spent six years on the school board with Gene; four years as Lawrence County Commissioner and nine years on the Dunn Hospital board. We are almost joined at the hip,” Lawrence County Commissioner Rodney Fish told those in attendance at the commissioner’s meeting on Tuesday.
