THE £3.2 million transformation of a former council waste depot and home of an historic lime kiln into a purpose -built, rural enterprise centre is underway. Hellifield company Sutcliffe Construction has been awarded the contract at Langcliffe Quarry, near Settle, by Craven District Council to create more than 26,000 square feet of new business space, combining the refurbishment of the old traditional stone buildings together with new build to provide modern light industrial and office space. The scheme, which was given planning consent last year by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, will also support preservation of the historic Hoffman Kiln and the wider site through a long-term conservation management plan.
