CANANDAIGUA The developer seeking to build 72 single-family homes in the northeast section of the city is withdrawing the proposal, a day after Canandaigua City Council voted to move the plan along for further review.
Gorham-based Chrisanntha Inc. wanted to build the North Classics subdivision on roughly 30 acres of land in the area of North Road and Stewart Place, in one of the few undeveloped areas of the city. Prices of the 1,400- to 1,700-square foot homes would have ranged from $300,000 to $325,000.
City Council on Thursday night voted in a largely procedural action to start the review process on the next series of approvals, which would have included a change in zoning and actual site details at the City Planning Commission level.
