Altogether 14 new registrations were made last year, according to the Jersey Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements’ latest annual report, which said that that number marked a ‘noticeable decrease’ compared to 2019.
The JMAPPA was formed ten years ago to manage the Island’s most serious violent and sexual offenders and is a partnership between agencies including the States police, Prison Service and Probation.
The report says: ‘There were 171 registered sexual offenders on 31 December 2020. This is an increase from 164 on 31 December 2019 and continues a trend of successive annual increases.
