Arson charged after vehicle fires at uniform company

COLONIE A Watervliet man fired late last year returned to his former employer and set a delivery vehicle ablaze on two occasions, destroying both and causing an estimated $150,000 in damage, town police said.
The 42-year-old suspect, Steven C. Rapoport, was arrested Thursday following a search of his home, according to the Colonie Police Department. He was charged with two counts of third-degree arson and two counts of criminal mischief in the second degree, all felonies, and released on his own recognizance following arraignment in town court, police said.
Rapoport was employed by UniFirst Corp., at 157 Troy-Schenectady Road, until being terminated under unamicable circumstances, according to an account provided by police.
