“But as former champions, we know that we want; we want to win but it is going very tough. We are going to try and see that we get positive results.”
The coach also gave injury updates from his side and explained how they are going to help the returning players reach their high level of fitness.
“Some are coming back and some are still missing,” he added. “We have got Juma Balinya and Mazengo Loro back but their fitness level is not better but we shall see how we will feature them in the game.
“We will give them fewer minutes so that they can stabilise and build on their fitness. We are going to miss Dennis Iguma so much because he has played so well in the last four games.
Another combination between Poloto and Hassan in the 20th-minute almost broke the deadlock but the latter s effort flew over the bar. Joseph Ssenyonjo and Sadat Anaku engineered a build up in the 26th minute but the low drive by Anaku went out as KCCA were more dominant than Nyamityobora.
Ssenyonjo, after receiving a pass from Anaku, attempted to head home but his effort hit the crossbar as KCCA could not get the goal with another fine chance in the 31st minute.
Both Poloto and Anaku attempted long-range shots in the 40th and in the 50th minutes respectively but all efforts went off target for the Kassiro Boys. Morely Byekwaso made a first change in the 75th minute as he withdrew Anaku for Charles Lwanga.
I am extremely happy for him now that he is back and in fine shape, He has been one of our top players in the last three seasons but unfortunately he has struggled so much with injuries. Let us pray he keeps fit and injury-free because whenever he shines, he will always put the team on top.
On Wednesday, in the game played at the Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, Bright Anukani, Poloto, Sadat Anaku, and Samuel Ssenypnjo scored for the Garbage Collectors while Clinton Kamugisha s brace is all that Nyamityobora managed from the domestic tie.
Anukani gave Kasasiro Boys a third-minute lead from outside the box with a delightfully taken strike. Assistant captain Poloto doubled the lead in the ninth minute with another clinical shot.
