Steven Kratchman Architect P.C. has been appointed Architect of Record (AoR) by Burnett Equity, the new owner of the MartiniqueNew York on Broadway hotel, to continue renovations it slowly began 15 years ago with the former owner of this historic property, which at that time was a struggling single-room occupancy.

Six containers stacked 3 x 2 have been used for this 178 square-metre family home in Claverack, New York.
We get to see many container homes at
Stuff, but it’s an innovative US one that has caught our eye this month. The c-Home, designed by architectural firm LOT-EK, is a family residence in Claverack, New York. It comprises six recycled 40-foot containers – three side-by-side on each of the two levels, providing a massive 178 square metres of living space. The home has an open layout, with the living area, dining space and kitchen on the ground floor. Two sets of stairs lead up to two bedroom suites. Each bedroom has its own full bathroom and walk-in wardrobe.
