West Ottawa Public Schools to interview six superintendent candidates

The West Ottawa Board of Education continues their process of hiring a new superintendent. The board is soliciting community and staff input next month during Zoom interviews for their top six candidates.

Martin, hired in 2011, will retire effective Jan. 1. He has worked in education for 40 years.
The board reviewed 28 applications, of which 42% were candidates from outside of Michigan. Officials say they had a very strong pool to select from, relative to other searches, including a high proportion of applicants with prior superintendent experience and district-wide administrative experience.
