With this opening, Hardee’s brings an array of classic American cuisine back to Greenville after the previous Hardee’s, located on Sweitzer Street, closed in the mid-1990s.

Darke County Media image GREENVILLE Greenville City Council heard legislation Tuesday regarding a rate increase in water and sewer rates for city residents. The measure, which received a first reading, calls for water rates to increase 50 percent effective May 1, 2021, and an additional 18 percent Nov. 1, 2021. Sewer rates will increase 25 percent May 1, and 10 percent more on Nov. 1. If approved, the legislation will also have the city switch to monthly utilities billing, effective May 1. The measure will receive a second reading during council’s Feb. 16 meeting.

She was reelected in 2019. Darke County Media image GREENVILLE The Greenville community lost one of its civic leaders Jan. 13, when Elizabeth “Dori” Howdieshell passed away at Miami Valley Hospital due to complications with COVID-19. She was 67 years old. Howdieshell was first elected to Greenville City Council in 2015, and was reelected for a second term in 2019. Prior to serving on council, she was the owner and operator of Tropical Isle Tanning Salon at 619 South Broadway in Greenville, a business she ran for 25 years. Howdieshell also worked as a Harbor Freight associate for four years.
