Just under a dozen people were cited for trespassing by Phoenix police on Tuesday during a planned demonstration outside Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema s office urging the lawmaker to end the filibuster.
More than 100 people participated in Tuesday s planned demonstration outside Sinema s office at a private property complex near 32nd Street and Camelback Road, according to Belén Sisa, a spokesperson for the Arizona Coalition to End the Filibuster.
Sinema opposes eliminating the Senate s filibuster a procedural maneuver that effectively requires a 60-vote supermajority to pass legislation based on an argument that it helps facilitate bipartisanship.

Arvest Foundation Contributes $6,500 to Rogers State
Garrett Giles Bartlesville students will have access to scholarship funds at Rogers State University thanks to a $6,500 donation from the Arvest Foundation. Arvest Bank community and business relations advisor Chris Batchelder presented the check to Steve Valencia, RSU vice president of development. In a statement, Batchelder said: “It is our pleasure to present this donation on behalf of the Arvest Foundation to Rogers State University to help area students further their educational futures. RSU offers a variety of bachelor’s and associate degrees to assist students in achieving their academic goals. The mission of RSU is to ensure students develop the skills and knowledge required to achieve professional and personal goals in dynamic local and global communities.
