Two Monks Brewing Co. looks to mark 5th anniversary in Akron this year

AKRON, Ohio – Breweries keep popping up in neighborhoods, small towns and urban pockets throughout every cranny of Ohio. Some with fanfare, some with screaming social-media presence. And others, like Two Monks Brewing Co., settle in comfortably and quiet.
Steve Prough and Patrick Armstead – the business partners behind the Akron brewery - took a love of home brewing, considered locations, and landed in a residential south-side neighborhood. This year, Two Monks will mark its fifth anniversary.
“Well, we decided we were just going to hide from the public,” Prough joked.
