After Postmedia News revealed this week that B.C.’s “speculation and vacancy tax” had started hitting the airspace above some mom-and-pop businesses this year, this reporter’s inbox was flooded with messages from bewildered readers. Some were from sympathetic small-business owners, while others expressed furor in language unpublishable in a family newspaper.
Some of the outrage over this week’s story came from regular critics of the B.C. NDP, including a B.C. Liberal news release declaring: “New NDP air tax pushes struggling businesses to the brink.”
