The pilot suffered minor injuries. The Chicago Executive Airport says in a statement that the private helicopter crashed shortly after takeoff about 6:45 a.m. CDT from the airport. FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory says the aircraft crashed about one mile south of the airport and the pilot was the only person aboard.
