PROSPECT HEIGHTS, Ill. (AP) - Authorities say a helicopter crashed onto a street in a Chicago suburb Wednesday morning, leaving the pilot with minor injuries. The Wheeling Fire Department's deputy chief, Steve Mella, says the Robinson R44 helicopter crashed onto Milwaukee Avenue in Prospect Heights and struck a light pole as it came down. The pilot suffered minor injuries. The Chicago Executive Airport says in a statement that the private helicopter crashed shortly after takeoff about 6:45 a.m. CDT from the airport. FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory says the aircraft crashed about one mile south of the airport and the pilot was the only person aboard.
